Etihad reschedules flights to London as Heathrow caps passenger numbers


UAE – Etihad Airways has briefly rescheduled a few of its flights to London as a result of Heathrow Airport capping the variety of departing passengers to restrict journey disruption.

The Abu Dhabi-based nationwide airline stated the brand new departure schedule could be relevant from Wednesday, and the airline is reaching out to passengers to tell them in regards to the new schedules.

“Etihad has needed to make a schedule adjustment to briefly re-time flights EY25/EY26 between Abu Dhabi and London to an earlier departure from 27 July to 11 September. Our groups are proactively reaching out to inform passengers ticketed on these flights of the brand new departure instances,” the airline’s spokesperson stated in a press release to Khaleej Instances on Monday.

On July 12, Heathrow Airport capped the variety of departing passengers at 100,000 per day and requested airways to cease promoting new tickets to restrict the impression on passengers.

Final week, Dubai-based Emirates airline introduced that it’ll improve the frequency of its providers to/from London Gatwick airport with the addition of a 3rd every day flight from July 27 till August 3, 2022, as a result of capability constraints at Heathrow.

Emirates stated passengers impacted by capability changes at London Heathrow can be contacted straight by the airline or their journey agent.

Etihad Airways spokesperson stated the airline is continuous to work with the airport and the related authorities to alleviate stress on the airport whereas minimising the impression on its passengers.
